Sometimes you just need a good laugh…and what better way to do that then a night out with the girls!
God’s Event Planner
I used to joke around and say that I was God’s event planner. The funny thing is that while I was praying one day God told me it was true. I discovered that I loved to organize all kinds of gatherings that would offer women of various backgrounds opportunities to come together and experience Him in a deeper and life-changing way.
Sometimes, those events were purely fun. Full of laughter, crazy activities, amazing conversations, and of course, food. I called those gatherings “Just for Laughs!” Other times they were full of worship and Word and sweet encounters. Some of the sweetest times we’ve had have been in the form of Women’s Gatherings.
Intimate, Living-Room, Encounter…
Women’s Gatherings are times set aside to make room for God—usually on a Friday night and Saturday. It’s set up like a mini-conference. There’s an atmosphere somewhat like you may have experienced at the home of Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42). You can be sure there are Martha’s running around at this event, but we all stop to be Mary—sitting at the feet of Jesus…
Among some of my FAVORITE things about women’s gathering are the women who come together desperate for something to change in their lives—even if it’s just being refreshed or having “girl-time.” They always come with an expectant heart. I also love the time we have in worship at the beginning of the sessions and the very tangible way we experience His presence throughout the event…
